Clean Concrete, No Stripes, No Runoff
Driveway and concrete cleaning is where real pressure belongs. Concrete is hard and porous, and tire grime, oil drips, rust, gum and dust work into its surface. Months without rain leave a gray film over driveways, walks and pool decks that only a proper wash removes. The goal is an even, uniform clean, without the light and dark stripes a wand leaves and without dirty water running down to the street.
Why a surface cleaner beats a wand
A rotary surface cleaner spins nozzles under a round hood at a fixed height above the concrete. Every pass gets the same distance and the same force, so the finished slab looks even. The hood also keeps spray and grit off cars, stucco and plants. We use a wand only for steps, edges, expansion joints and corners.
Stains that need more than water
- Oil and transmission fluid: a degreaser goes on first and is given time to work; old stains often lighten rather than vanish
- Rust: from sprinklers, fertilizer or metal furniture, treated with a rust remover
- Gum: softened and lifted with heat and pressure
- Algae in shaded or sprinkler-wet areas: pretreated, then washed
- Efflorescence: white mineral bloom that may need a mild acid treatment
We tell you at the estimate which marks should come out and which will only fade.
The driveway slopes to the gutter, and that matters
Most Anaheim driveways drain toward the curb, and the curb gutter leads to a catch basin. Under Anaheim Municipal Code Chapter 10.09, discharging anything that is not entirely stormwater or that contains a pollutant to the storm drain system is prohibited, and the city notes that this runoff reaches local waterways untreated. Concrete wash water carries exactly what the rule targets: sediment, oil and cleaning solution. Following the countywide guidance for mobile cleaners, we block the path to the gutter with a berm, then recover the water with a vacuum and tank or direct it to a lawn or bed where it can soak in fully before we leave.
Water waste rules
Anaheim's water conservation FAQ lists washing down driveways and sidewalks with potable water as prohibited except to address an immediate health and safety need. Simply hosing loose dirt into the street is exactly what that rule is aimed at. A professional cleaning is different from a hose-down, but it should still be run to avoid waste: we sweep or blow the slab first, use trigger guns and a surface cleaner that does the work with less water, and leave nothing running down the walk.
Pool decks and walkways
Pool decks collect sunscreen, algae near the coping, and leaves. We cover the pool edge, keep wash water out of the pool, and use lower pressure on stamped, colored or coated decks, which can be marked by a narrow stream.
After cleaning: sealing
Clean concrete is the right time to seal. A sealer can slow future oil staining and make the next cleaning easier. HomeGuide puts cleaning and sealing at about $1 to $3 per square foot. Ask about it at the estimate if you want both done.

How It Works
1. Look at the slab
We note stains, cracks, finish type and where the water will drain.
2. Contain and pretreat
Catch basins and the gutter path are blocked, then oil and rust spots are pretreated.
3. Surface clean
A rotary cleaner covers the slab evenly; edges and steps are done by wand.
4. Recover and rinse
Runoff is recovered or soaked into landscaping, and the area is checked with you.

Driveway & Concrete Cleaning Questions
How much does driveway cleaning cost in Anaheim?
Angi lists driveway pressure washing at $100 to $500 nationally, with most jobs $100 to $250, or about $0.20 to $0.40 per square foot. Heavy oil, rust or growth costs more. We quote in writing after seeing the driveway.
Will pressure washing remove oil stains?
Fresh oil usually comes out with degreaser and hot or pressurized water. Oil that has soaked in for years often lightens but leaves a shadow. We tell you at the estimate what to expect.
Can pressure washing damage concrete?
It can if a narrow tip is held close, which etches lines into the surface. A rotary surface cleaner keeps a fixed distance and spreads the force evenly, which is why we use it for the main slab.
Where does the water go when you clean my driveway?
Not down the gutter. Anaheim's code and the countywide stormwater guidance bar wash water from the curb, gutter and storm drain, so we block the path, then recover the water or let it soak into your landscaping with your permission.
